Having gone from werewolves and underground creatures to a post-apocalyptic tribal era, here director Neil Marshall tackles Roman history on British soil. When a Roman legion is ambushed and annihilated by the vicious natives known as Picts, one centurion survives. Trapped behind enemy lines, Quintus escapes, but continues to fight for survival when he has to save his General (Virilus), fragile allegiances sometimes being deadly.

Since his short film Combat, Marshall's movies reflected military / mission themes, and here it is in full force (although in ancient times). He fills the screen with intense scenes of gritty action with a strong and well-told story behind it.

Unfortunately this version does not contain any extra features.
